About event

Dennis Rollins, London’s best Trombonist (that even has a MBE) is heading to town for an incredible evening of Funk with an all star Bristol line up including James Morton on Sax, Denny Ilett on guitar, Jonny Henderson on Organ and Ian Matthews on Drums.

Originally this band was put together by our Artistic Director Denny Ilett and played for our festival launch party last November. We were all so blown away at having so many incredible musicians in the same room and hearing the sweet sounds that they produced, that we’ve booked them for out final instalment of the year, at Bristols best Covid secure venue, Lakota Gardens.

Over the years, Dennis Rollins has established a reputation as an artist of excellence, and has lent his unique and stylish talents to some of this country’s, and indeed the world’s, top jazz and pop personalities such as Courtney Pine, Baba Maal, Jamiroquai, US3, Brand New Heavies, and Blur. He is also a member of the legendary Maceo Parker’s band. Teamed up with some of Bristol’s finest local talent you can expect an evening of incredible funk, blues, soul and a touch of jazz, to warm you up and get you ready for Christmas.

*Please note that you only need to purchase one ticket for the show to book a table and a table can sit up to 6 people. Also if Bristol enters Tier 2 (High) in relation to Covid restrictions, you are still able to hang out in mixed households outdoor venues such as this one.
