Dropout Disco Get Intimate ft. Fantastic Man & Laurence Guy
from £12 + BF
We still haven’t managed to drag our minds from the cosmos since Nightmares On Wax, Special Request, Pangaea, Mafalda, Rhythm Sister & many more helmed our journey to the Multiverse. We’ll be back, but first a much more cosy & intimate affair in our new no.1 space, The Coroner’s Courts, with a pair of insanely great DJ’s. We got some more sweating to do.
First up, Melbourne via Berlin’s Fantastic Man has a sound just as hard to pin down as his geographical whereabouts. He’s been years ahead of the game for as long as we’ve been dancing, throwing down warm yet pounding breakbeat cuts, through melodic acid groovers, with a taste for boogie inducing & rugged drums that allows him to straddle many a genre.
Put simply señor fantastic has been our favourite for years, but ever selective with the parties he plays, we’ve only just managed to win him round.
Next up is a Brit who cut his teeth in the very London family of Jazz leaning house producers. Laurence Guy graduated into the big leagues with his stratospherically successful album on Church, including tracks ‘Gone’, ‘Claudi’, ‘Saw You For The First Time’ & ‘Wichita Falls’. His all-encompassing DJ sets push the house, jazz, disco, lo-fi & ambient which he’s famed for producing, mixed with the flare that has put him in such demand of late. He’s also a lovely dude to boot.
A special guest and DD family ‘n’ friends make up the rest, taking over the second courtroom all night.. Expect the usual non-stop panty drop selections.
Dress to sweat & to impress.
