For the final dance of 2022 weā€™ll be transforming Lakota for a very special night like no other.

Spread across 3 rooms with spectacular decor, weā€™re pulling out all the stops to mark the end of the year – in which the club celebrated its 30th anniversary – and welcome the next chapter of this iconic nightclub.

To headline, weā€™ve invited one of the most loved & respected selectors of the last 10 years in Hunee, for his 3rd Lakota headline show. Playing a 3-hour set (including the midnight hour) his signature sound spanning world music, house, italo, disco, techno & more will have the club grooving into the New Year.

Alongside Hunee, we will be welcoming once more Dan Shake. For someone who admits they ā€œnever actually wanted to be a DJā€ Dan has positioned himself as one of the most popular and go-to names in the dance music scene.

Having been heavily influenced by the 90s hip hop and Detroit house scene, these days as a DJ/producer he now deals in the sonic sphere of funk, disco, and house and is known for his relentless energy behind the decks.

In support, we’re delighted to invite two prodigious talents for their Lakota and Bristol debuts: Gabrielle Kwarteng and Willow.

New York City native Gabrielle Kwartengā€™s musical beginnings stemmed from her listening to her parentsā€™ cassette collection of Ghanaian highlife, Nigerian Afrobeat, American disco, soul, and jazz.

Having lived in London and Paris and travelled far and wide, Gabrielle has amassed a vast music collection ā€“ both vinyl and digital ā€“ that enables her to seamlessly weave between disco, house funk, jazz, and soul.

Sophie Wilson – aka Willow – made her introduction to the scene in 2016 with her debut track ā€˜Feel Meā€™. When the veteran DJ ā€˜Move Dā€™ heard her track playing off nothing more than an iPhone speaker at Gottwood, he insisted she send him the track.

Fast forward a year, and Move D had everyone talking about her track after he played it in his Fabric 74 mix, and ever since then he has continued to champion her undoubted talent.

Willow has carved out a name for herself pushing a distinctive yet hard to define style that combines dubby textures, leftfield house and ambient techno together.

With such a rich and diverse plethora of talent on offer this New Year’s Eve, the stage is all set for the most spectacular of shows to see out 2022 and will be a fitting finale to our biggest ever Autumn/Winter season.

Tickets for this show have been in high demand since going on sale and will sell out in advance. Head to our events page to secure your ticket now whilst you can.

Having paved his way through Amsterdamā€™s music scene for over 10 years via a string of infamous residencies, renowned releases, and an iconic series of Boiler Room appearances, Young Marco has now become one of the names most associated with the city when it comes to underground music.

Famed as one of the best crate diggers about, his ability to transform those finds into euphoric dancefloor moments has garnered the attention of fans worldwide, especially after his run of featuring 8 years in a row on the infamous Dekmantel Boiler Room sets. Not only a digger & a selector, Marco has released on some of the worldā€™s most respected labels including fellow Dutchman Antalā€™s Rush Hour records, and Lovefinger’s ESP Institute label, helping to complete his profile as a tastemaker.

In his latest and last appearance on the Dekmantel Boiler Room stage, Marco switched up the dusty house, island grooves & middle eastern disco style he had become so synonymous with, for a driving techno & trance power hour, instantly connecting with the crowd and fans worldwide. The set is already his second most viewed online, in just 2 months.

The standout moment was his closing track, an explosive remix of Imogen Heapā€™s esteemed ā€˜Hide & Seekā€™ track, which sent everyone into a frenzied scramble for the track ID. After teasing it for a short while in comments sections online, Marco finally announced the track was his own version, and that it would be coming out this year.

On January 28th 2023, weā€™re extremely excited to invite Young Marco to headline our Coronerā€™s Court opening party, alongside fellow Dekmantel icon & techno fanatic, Courtesy. It will be Marcoā€™s first time playing in Bristol since he played Lakotaā€™s main room on New Year’s Eve 2019, a legendary Lakota night featuring a lineup also including Palms Trax, Nightmares on Wax & DJ Boring. For January tickets, please see our event listings.
