Shutdown: Hybrid & Scuffed

Shutdown is back baby! Our infamous mid-week bass heavy raves return and for our first instalment in the series we’re bringing you two serious players in the game, DJ Hybrid and Scuffed.

DJ Hybrid is a jungle drum and bass producer and DJ from the UK. He has been a fixture in the drum and bass scene for over a decade, and has released music on some of the genre’s most respected labels, including Ram Records, Born on Road, Jungle Cakes and Deep in the Jungle, to name just a few.

Over the years, he has honed his skills as a producer, drawing on a wide range of influences to create a signature sound that blends classic jungle breaks, deep bass, and melodic hooks. DJ Hybrid is also known for his high-energy DJ sets, which have taken him to clubs and festivals around the world such as Boomtown, Glastonbury, Let It Roll and he has toured internationally in the US, Canada and across Europe.

Meanwhile Scuffed has releases on some of the biggest and best new schoole jungle labels. These include Invicta Audio, Deep in the Jungle, Dub Shotta and Jungle Cakes, with Born on Road soon to follow. A passionate student of the history of jungle, his sets see him combining classic with contemporary, and layering acapellas with new beats to deliver sets that simply no-one else can play.
