Join the Team Behind Bristol’s Most Iconic Events
For over 30 years, Lakota has been at the heart of Bristol’s music and nightlife. From legendary club nights and live music to festivals, student events and private hires, we welcome thousands of guests every week.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking people to join our Lakota Crew.
Whether you’re looking for flexible work alongside study or another job, want to gain experience in hospitality and live events, or hope to build a long-term career in the industry, we’d love to hear from you.
As a proud accredited Real Living Wage Employer, every member of our team is paid at least the independently calculated Real Living Wage.
About the Role
From serving drinks at sold-out club nights to welcoming guests at the entrance or helping deliver major events, every shift brings something different.
As a Lakota Crew Member, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers.
We’re looking for people who bring energy, take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a team. If you’re reliable, willing to learn and happy working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work across a range of operational roles, including:
- Serving drinks and delivering excellent customer service.
- Welcoming guests and scanning tickets.
- Supporting bar operations by restocking stock, ice and glassware.
- Assisting with cloakroom duties and customer enquiries.
- Helping prepare the venue before events.
- Supporting venue resets and cleaning after events.
- Working with colleagues across the venue to keep events running smoothly.
Flexibility, teamwork and a positive attitude are essential, as every event is different.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are:
- Friendly, approachable and confident with customers.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Positive team players with a strong work ethic.
- Calm under pressure in busy environments.
- Willing to learn new skills and take on different responsibilities.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Previous experience in hospitality, bars, retail, customer service or live events is useful, but it isn’t essential.
We’ll provide full training. We’re far more interested in attitude, reliability and willingness to learn than previous experience.
Career Progression
At Lakota, we believe the best leaders are developed from within.
We’ve created a clear progression pathway for people who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and commitment to learning.
Lakota Crew Member → Supervisor → Duty Manager
At each stage, you’ll receive additional training, greater responsibility and opportunities to develop your leadership skills. Progression is based on your performance, capability and readiness to take the next step, not simply how long you’ve worked here.
Working at Lakota also gives you the opportunity to gain experience across different parts of the business. As you build experience, there may be opportunities to broaden your skills, take on new responsibilities or move into different roles where there’s a good fit for both you and the business.
Many of our supervisors, duty managers and managers started in front-line operational roles, and we’re proud to promote from within whenever possible.
What We Offer
- £13.45 per hour as a proud accredited Real Living Wage Employer.
- Flexible shifts around study or other commitments.
- Full training and ongoing development.
- The opportunity to work across some of Bristol’s biggest club nights, festivals and live events.
